Continuing our celebration of 50 years of passionate shoemaking, today we feature another member of the ECCO family in our Shoemaker Spotlight.

Today’s profile highlights Deborah Eppler, Visual Merchandising Manager (pictured below, second from the right).

ECCO: What made you want to work for ECCO?

Deborah: I wanted to work for ECCO because it is a global company and I felt it would be interesting to interact and work with colleagues from different countries, having different ideas and ways of approaching things.

ECCO: How long have you been with the company and what positions have you held?

Deborah: For over 14 years and I started as the first Visual Merchandising Specialist for EAM-USA and am currently the Visual Merchandising Manager. My title has not changed much, but my role keeps evolving as our needs change, which keeps me challenged and committed to my role. I participated in implementing the first wholesale visual branded programs here in the States, to supporting the first ECCO store openings and have been able to partner with team mates both in wholesale and retail, domestically and globally, in a variety of projects.

ECCO: Why are you passionate about ECCO?

Deborah: I love that this is a family business and that everyone in the group is so passionate about what they contribute in their area of expertise, to make things work for the whole of ECCO.

ECCO: Which ECCO products are staples in your personal wardrobe?

Deborah: The Navoi adds needed inches to my height, I love the color of the orange Jogga and can’t live without my Natal satchel.

ECCO: What is the one thing that you wish everyone knew about ECCO?

Deborah: Commitment. ECCO is committed to our shoes, our teams, our customers, our brand and to respect in the way we work.

Continuing our celebration of 50 years of passionate shoemaking, today we debut a recurring series called the Shoemaker Spotlight. In this series you will get to know the members of the ECCO family and receive an inside look at the brand.

Shall we meet the people who create the shoes you love to wear?

Today’s profile highlights Eric Smith, National Account Manager.

ECCO: What made you want to work for ECCO?

Eric: The stories that I heard from my peers about the brand, shoes and people that worked for the company. The passion was intriguing.

ECCO: How long have you been with the company and what positions have you held?

Eric: I have been here for 10 years. I started off as a Field Service person, promoted to a Senior Field Sales position, promoted to a Territory Manager and lastly promoted to a National Sales Manager.

ECCO: Why are you passionate about ECCO?

Eric: The product. It is exciting to experience how our customers and consumers react to the brand and the new collections each season. The brand loyalty is second to none.

ECCO: Which ECCO products are staples in your personal wardrobe?

Eric: Biom Street, Windsor’s, Biarritz Wing Tip and Boot. The old Super cross style remains my casual weekend shoe.

ECCO: What is the one thing that you wish everyone knew about ECCO?

Eric: I wish people knew the history of the company. The family atmosphere and diverse working relationships is a unique advantage working for ECCO.
